HEISLER
A 5 inch gauge Heisler, built by Jim Ranford for Vic Sicluna seen here on the elevated track. This loco purrs along!

SIMPLEX
This is a modified version of the popular Simplex design, built by Ken Baker. Beautifully finished, the first run was faultless and a example of just what can be achieved with a first engine.

This 5 inch gauge beauty was built by Jim Leishman and is seen here in the elevated track locomotive depot. Jim's in the background.

DOUBLE HEADING ON THE ELEVATED
Just finished is Bernie Courtenay's 10 class seen here double heading with Brian Kilgour's 'Nigel Gresley' on a trial train of elevated track rolling stock.
MAISIE
This 'Maisie' was finished by Warwick Allison after being started by his father. Here an 8 year old Andrew Allison is showing his driving skills at speed on the elevated track.

THE DEPOT
An elevated view of the 5 inch gauge ground level track locomotive depot, seen here at a quiet moment.
WAGR V Class on a Short Mixed Goods.
This 5 inch gauge Western Australian V class locomotive is built to 1:8 scale due to the prototype being 3 ft 6 inch gauge. It is seen here waiting for the signal to reverse back into the platform from the yard.

VISITING STEAM!
This visiting SAR locomotive is a class 16F which didn't quite exist in full size! John Wakefield is seen here on the outer main ground level track after dropping in on his way back to Adelaide from Townsville.
422 CLASS
Brian Carter brought the Australian Model Engineering 422 class battery electric for a run, seen here with Brian instructing Andrew Allison in its operation on the outer main track.

STATION SCENE
Brian Carter watches Joe Huntley glide past with his magnificently detailed New South Wales Railway 36 Class, on the main line, while Bernie Courtenay attends to his South Maitland Railway 10 Class in the station.
SIGNAL LEVERS
An end on view of the Westinghouse style miniature levers in the ground level railway signal box

LEVER FRAME
A view of the signal levers showing the lever nameplates as well as the different lever colours. Red is used for signals & black for point levers.
A GROUND LEVEL RAILWAY SIGNAL
This quarter scale 3 aspect signal with turnout head is typical of the signals installed at the SLSLS. A wheel trip activates an electronic device to return the signal to stop when the train passes.
