Channeling
by Trudie Moore

Channeling is the ability to bring through messages from beings who are no longer in physical form on earth.

Last century, mediums known as Trance mediums would appear to lose consciousness and allow the spirit of a departed relative to take over their body and give a message to the living thereby giving comfort to those left behind.

Today this has changed in that in many cases the psychic or channel doesn't lose consciousness and is still for the most part, aware of what is going on around them.

Although the channel is aware of what is being said, in order for the information to remain as un-coloured as possible, there is a conscious effort on the part of the channel not to hold on to every word that is brought through, and set their personality aside. So after the session, it is not un-common that the channel may not remember certain parts of the session.

Many mediums in the past focussed purely on bringing loved ones proof of survival after death. Contact has now become much broader and channels are bringing through messages from dimensions that are beyond the astral plane (the dimension immediately beyond the earth plane) and are connecting with angels, ark-angels, and highly evolved beings called Ascended Masters.

The Ascended masters are entities of a higher consciousness who, having completed their lessons on earth have evolved to a state of spiritual mastery and choose to serve the earth and mankind from a higher realm or dimension.

So how does channeling work?

The basis of channeling is Telepathy. Telepathic ability is natural in the animal kingdom, and man too used to possess this also. Thousands of years ago around the time of the Great Flood, something occurred that caused the glands in the brain to atrophy - in biblical terms it was "The Fall of Man" and we lost the use of this faculty. These glands used to be the size of a 20 cent piece, and today they are no larger than a pea.

Telepathy requires the pineal gland and pituitary glands in the brain to function at their optimum and for a connection of energy between the two. They act rather like a radio set - the Pituitary gland acting as the thought receiver, and the pineal gland as the transmitter. The other piece of apparatus needed in this whole process, is for the psychic energy centres in the crown and forehead, known as chakras to be opened.

This is all achieved through the practice of meditation. When we meditate we close down the outer cortex of the brain which is where all our thinking is done. After stilling the mind, it allows the opportunity to get in touch with the larger, un-used portion of the brain that scientists call "White Matter". This is where so much of our potential resides and is often referred to as the "Guru within" each time we enter into the white matter, we awaken tiny electrical impulses called "synapses" and the more of these synapses we wake up, the more knowledge and wisdom we un-lock.

So what purpose does channelling serve?

Channeling can be utilised in a similar way to counselling - to act as a guide and offer a different and positive viewpoint, to assist a person gain perspective on their life and what is happening around them.

It can encourage and uplift to a very great degree. It is quite common for the personality, tone of voice, and speaking style to change when a guide is speaking through a channel. They will use words or phrases that are not in their normal every day vocabulary. If the client is sensitive or clairvoyant at all, they may very well see a light around the channel and sometimes a form of a person.

The quality and level of information that is channelled depends on the degree of spiritual development of the channel. It is important that the person channelling is in a calm frame of mind because any emotional trauma or stress will of course affect the clarity of what is being transmitted rather like a radio picking up static. Channels are only human but are dedicated to using their gift to help and heal those that come to their door.
