The North Rocks Titans ended the Sydney Dead Stars seven-year dominance in a thrilling Hastings Baseball Senior Easter Carnival final at Tuffins Lane, Port Macquarie.

In a match that went down to the wire, the Titans fought back gamely to upset the carnival favourites 11-10 in eight innings. The Titans showed tremendous fighting qualities after trailing 9-3 at the end of the fourth innings.

The Goulburn Cubs picked up the bridesmaid's tag for the third successive year when the side lost the B division final 7-6 to Newcastle's Phoenix

The Cubs, runners up at the annual carnival over the past three years, went into the final as pre-match favourites after boasting an undefeated run in 2000.

In another thriller, the Rising Damp Stars claimed the C division crown from the Belmore Rovers 10-9.

Hasting Baseball president and carnival co-ordinator Scott Miller said this year's event was a very successfully carnival.
