"Bailey" was a stand out in his litter from the very beginning, he was always the first at everything, first on his feet, first to eat solids, first to get out of the whelping box and explore his world. Once outdoors he became the leader of the pack and got himself into lots of trouble with his mischievous ways. The potential that this dog showed from the onset stayed with him throughout his growing stages, he has matured into a fine specimen of the breed with all the attributes that Kazjs is known for. His temperament was faultless he was easy to train and enjoyed everything that was asked of him; he was a joy to work with in no time at all this dog showed much promise as a show dog and companion with an eager mind to work.

It was with great anticipation, eagerness and confidence that we sent Bailey over to Kylie Cullen in Christchurch New Zealand in July 2004, knowing that without a doubt that he would be shown to his full potential and also become an integral part of the Cullen family, constant guardian to Elise, Kylies young daughter and general farm hand to Rob, Kylies husband.

Kylie wanted a show dog to have fun with in the ring on occasion,  a dog that had to have a perfect trustworthy temperament around her young daughter, and a dog that could spend time on the land with husband Rob keeping an eye on events, and just maybe a dog that would look after stock when required. With Baileys exuberant love of life and great willingness to please it was without hesitation that I sent him to the perfect home.  Kylie is no stranger to the Show Dog World having showed rough collie's for several years with tremendous success, with great professionalism and confidence Kylie presents her charges to perfection  a winning combination that has taken her and her dogs to many top awards in the ring.

In November 2005 I was fortunate to visit with Kylie during a three day show week-end in Christchurch, only wanting to be an observer and take some much needed R & R; Bailey's lead was promptly put into my hands with instructions to show him. On the second day of the week-end under International All Breeds Judge Mr. B Jenkins of South Africa, it was with great pride and immense excitement taking Bailey from Dog Challenge to Best of Breed onto Best In Group, then to take out Runner Up To Best In Show was a thrill beyond words. Bailey was easy to show thanks to the wonderful training of Kylie and was in great physical condition I only just managed to keep up with his long striding gait and over exuberant personality.

Bailey went to his New Zealand championship title with ease gaining his final points under a German Shepherd Specialist who appreciated this dog’s wonderful structure and true Collie type thus rewarding him with Best of Breed and his title.

In the photos above you can see Bailey from three weeks onwards in his different growth stages, then finally maturing into the lovely dog he is today, not only is he a show dog he also earns his keep with helping out around the farm when needed. Being Rob's right hand he is never far away when Rob is on the tractor around the farm. He also turns his heels to the sheep on occasion, but the greatness love in his life is Elise whom he plays with, gets into trouble with and protects her well being everyday. All this comes naturally to him being a well rounded balanced dog in temperament with his natural herding instincts surfacing to the fore when required.
