BOOK I

THESIS AND ANTITHESIS

In this first Book, we accomplish our reconciliation of science and religion.

PART 1
INTRODUCTION TO SALVATION SCIENCE

In Salvation Science, we achieve reconciliation by completing science, then using science to complete and correct religion. Our reconciled result will adhere perfectly to the scientific method, yet promise real literal immortal life in perfect happiness in Heaven with God.

PART 2
OUR METHOD OF RECONCILIATION

The above method for reconciling science and religion is as simple and commonsense as can be. But let us examine it in more detail. Our method begins with two assumptions: the Universe is one logically consistent whole, and both science and religion are objective and essentially accurate descriptions of it. So why do they disagree? This can only be for three reasons: (1) Science or religion or both contain errors; (2) they are incomplete, describing only a part of the truth, and different parts at that; and (3) they speak different languages, using different words to describe the same thing. Reconciliation, therefore, consists in three operations: Correction of errors, Completion of both world views, and Translation between them.

PART 3
TRANSLATION

We begin the work of reconciliation by doing Translation. This gives us a list of "Word Equations", or in other words, a dictionary which translates religious terms into their scientific equivalents, and vice versa.

PART 4
CORRECTION AND COMPLETION

Each Word Equation, upon closer examination, is found to be only partly valid. There are moral problems to resolve, as well as spiritual, Anthropocentric, and eschatological ones. To deal with all these problems and completely validate our Word Equations, we must do Correction and Completion. Ideally, to do that, we would need a complete and accurate body of knowledge of the Universe against which to compare science and religion in order to Complete and Correct them. But we have no such body of knowledge. The only knowledge of the Universe we have is science and religion themselves. The best we can do, therefore, is firstly to agree that the scientific method is the best guide to the truth that we have. In other words, we assume that science is always right. Then we reason that, if religion disagrees, religion is in error and must be Corrected. But even if science is always right, it may still be incomplete. We Complete science by using the scientific method, then we use science as a guide to Complete religion.

PART 5
GOOD AND EVIL

We can surely agree that the above method is the only reasonable and sensible way to achieve a true reconciliation of science and religion. But how do we avoid reducing religion to merely an emasculated echo of science? Great care must be taken when doing Completion and Correction, so that religion will retain its essential message, namely the promise that there is a loving, moral God Who will give us immortal life in perfect happiness if we obey His laws. We begin the work of Completion and Correction by Completing science and developing a simple scientific "theory of good and evil". Then we compare it to religion, and find that religion agrees. We describe the Universe as seen by science in terms of good and evil.

PART 6
PROCESS INTERACTION

We use our new terms of good and evil to describe the behaviour of processes. This gives us a scientific concept of "Good Behaviour" and "Evil Behaviour".

PART 7
BIBLICAL MORALITY

We compare our concept of Good Behaviour with Biblical morality, and find that the two agree in almost all important respects.

PART 8
SCIENTIFIC ALTRUISM

Traditional Darwinian science says that survival is selfish and competitive. We re-examine this belief in the light of more recent scientific insights, and we find that survival as seen by science is actually altruistic and cooperative, just as religion has always taught.

PART 9
MORAL WISDOM

We bring together the scientific and religious wisdom of the ages with the insights of Salvation Science, and produce a new moral philosophy which is universal and collective in the highest degree.

PART 10
LOVE AND HATE

Going now to the religious concepts of love and hate, we again Complete science by developing a scientific "theory of love and hate". Then we compare this with religion, and find that religion agrees.

PART 11
THE CHURCH AND THE BEAST

Using our insights so far, we now prove by scientific reasoning that religion is correct in dividing the Universe in two parts, a good part called the "Church", and an evil part called the "Beast", which are at war with each other.

PART 12
SPIRIT AND MATTER

We find that, while Platonic spiritual doctrine is false, religion gives us other kinds of spirit which are perfectly acceptable to science.

PART 13
GOD

We find that it is completely valid from a scientific point of view to describe the scientific First Cause as good, moral, loving, wise, omnipotent, just, merciful, and so on. In other words, we find that the First Cause is identical to God in all important respects.

PART 14
SATAN

We develop a scientific concept of Satan, the source of all evil, and find that religion agrees. We also gain some important insights into the nature of evil.

PART 15
CREATION

Here we reconcile the scientific and religious aspects of the creation of the Universe. We ask how, when, where, and why God made the world, and what it is exactly that He made.

PART 16
SALVATION

We use our new scientific language of love and God and so on to create a scientific "Theory of Heaven", or a Salvation Hypothesis, which tells us where Heaven is, what it consists of, and how we can get there. We compare our vision of Heaven with religion, and find that religion agrees.

PART 17
THE WAY TO HEAVEN

We consider the scientific aspects of how we can get to Heaven. We must use scientific technology to build a "Salvation Machine" which can reach outside space and time into the realm of the First Cause, and bring about the creation of an entirely new kind of Universe, which we call the "Salvation Universe". We compare our insights with traditional religious wisdom, and find that religion agrees.

PART 18
THE SALVATION HYPOTHESIS

We complete our scientific theory of Heaven by fitting it into current scientific theory. The Salvation Universe fits in with the Big Bang Theory, and our Salvation Hypothesis doubles as a basic axiom that defines the whole scientific enterprise, transforming present meaningless science into the equivalent of a religion with a true higher meaning.

PART 19
JESUS CHRIST

In Christianity, it is Jesus Christ that carries the Universe towards Salvation. In Salvation Science, evolution fulfills the same role. We examine the parallels between Jesus Christ and evolution, and find that they are surprisingly similar. Indeed, Jesus Christ must be considered an ancient version of our modern theory of evolution.

PART 20
LANGUAGE AND REALITY

Having completed our reconciliation of science and religion, we look back on what we have done. We find that we accomplished our reconciliation entirely by manipulating words. The apparent irreconcilability of science and religion was therefore nothing but linguistic confusion.

BOOK II

SYNTHESIS

In this second Book, we use our insights from Book I to recount the history of the world as seen by Salvation Science.

PART 21
ARMAGEDDON

In religion, the war of good and evil is sometimes referred to as the Battle of Armageddon. In Salvation Science, this war spans the whole Universe from beginning to end.

PART 22
THE BIG BANG

The so-called Big Bang theory tells us that the Universe was created in a gigantic explosion. This explosion marks the commencement of the battle of Armageddon.

PART 23
PROCESSES

Having created the Universe, God began to evolve processes. His intention is to shape the Universe into a weapon by which Satan can be destroyed. Satan, meanwhile, seeks to destroy all processes and return the Universe to the nothingness from whence it came.

PART 24
ORGANIC LIFE

By random mutation and natural selection, God created organic life, the most advanced process in the Universe.

PART 25
INTELLIGENCE

In human beings, the Universe has evolved an intelligent consciousness. Satan, realising that an intelligent enemy is far more dangerous than an unintelligent one, tried to sabotage intelligence by creating the enemy of intelligence, namely stupidity and ignorance.

PART 26
PARADISE

For two million years prior to civilisation, humans lived in nature like animals do. There, they enjoyed the same peaceful bliss that Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden.

PART 27
EVICTION

Due to overpopulation, humans were forced to abandon life in nature and take up farming. And with farming began many of the problems of life that we modern humans lament so much.

PART 28
CIVILISATION

With the ancient civilisations came war, pestilence, exploitation, corrupt Government, and other evils.

PART 29
DE-SOCIALISATION

In nature, humans lived together in love. That is, they were perfectly socialised. But civilisation "de-socialised" humans, that is, it destroyed love and created hate and envy and loneliness. We study the process of de-socialisation in detail.

PART 30
VIOLENCE

Violence and crime are some of the most unfortunate aspects of de-socialisation. We look at the nature and causes of these evils.

PART 31
LEARNING

Many people believe that civilisation is good because it has produced learning. However, we contend that learning is not a product of civilisation at all. Rather, it was produced by still uncivilised people looking for a way to destroy civilisation and return to the happiness of nature.

PART 32
THE PRIMITIVE WORLD VIEW

The history of human learning begins with the way primitive humans saw the world. Their world view is characterised by an innocent simplicity and common sense that modern humans can appreciate and learn from.

PART 33
RELIGION

With civilisation came the first religions. Religious thinkers have discovered many important truths, but at the same time, religion has also involved humans in much intellectual confusion and error.

PART 34
SCIENCE

To circumvent the confusion of religious doctrine, humans developed modern science, and found that by scientific knowledge, they can manipulate and rearrange the physical world in entirely new ways.

PART 35
PRIVATE PROPERTY

Science is the gift of God, but Satan managed to turn it to evil uses. To understand how he did this, we must first examine the institution of private property. This is an evil invention of Satan which began when civilisation began.

PART 36
CAPITALISM

Private property, and the war over it, is the essence of the economic system we call Capitalism. We study some of the basic principles of Capitalism.

PART 37
CAPITALISM AND CIVILISATION

We argue that Capitalism is "pure civilisation", and primitive society is "pure nature", and all other kinds of societies -- Feudal society, slave societies, and so on -- are admixtures of these two.

PART 38
CAPITALISM AND THE BEAST

Modern humans think that Capitalism is a good economic system. But we show that it has all the attributes of the Beast, as listed earlier in Part 14.

PART 39
CAPITALISM AND LEARNING

Capitalism, just like civilisation, produces no learning. It does, however, take the learning produced by people independently of Capitalist society, and it uses that learning to produce an evil technology that destroys the world.

PART 40
THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

We look briefly at the history of Capitalist technology and its impact on the world.

PART 41
COMMUNISM

We consider some of the attempts humans have made to destroy Capitalism and return to nature. The greatest of these attempts is perhaps the economic system known as Communism. But the Communist experiment has largely failed, and Capitalism remains as the world's dominant economic system.

PART 42
INDUSTRIAL ABUNDANCE

For the rich 20% of the human race, Capitalism has created an overabundance of cheap consumer goods. But at the same time it has reduced human beings to a loneliness and a spiritual emptiness unequaled in all previous human history.

PART 43
POVERTY

While Capitalism panders to the idle whims of the rich 20% of the human race, it totally ignores the desperate needs of the remaining 80%, who are starved, exploited, dispossessed, orphaned, and killed on a scale the world has never seen.

PART 44
WAR

Although war began as soon as civilisation began, it has never been anywhere near as destructive as it is today. Capitalist technology and politics have conspired to create terrible weapons that can destroy the world hundreds of times over.

PART 45
FAMINE

Famines began when humans first started farming. In the rich nations, through the so-called "green revolution", Capitalism has won a temporary reprieve from hunger. But this is illusory. The world is slowly but surely building up towards a "super-famine" in which not millions, but billions, will starve to death.

PART 46
DISEASE

In nature, humans were healthy because they lived in the healthiest environment. Diseases and epidemics are peculiar to civilisation. To cure disease, there are two kinds of medicine. Firstly, there is a simple medicine which in effect returns humans to a natural environment. Then there is a complex medicine, created by Capitalism, which tries to "engineer" health by artificial means. This complex medicine yields little real health for patients. What it does yield in abundance, however, is profit for the health industry.

PART 47
ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION

Our greed for earthly wealth is destroying the environment that supports our existence, and thereby it is also destroying us.

PART 48
WASTED RESOURCES

Capitalism drives modern humans to squander precious natural resources like oil and coal. Having made ourselves dependent on a lifestyle that cannot continue much longer, we have set ourselves on a collision course with disaster.

PART 49
POLLUTION

Due to industrial activities, the world is becoming more and more poisonous to life. There is no safe way to dispose of poisonous waste. The only way not to poison the world is to not produce the poisons in the first place.

PART 50
DESERTIFICATION

Everywhere on earth, ecosystems are in decline. Humans are killing nature, and in so doing, they also kill themselves, because they are inextricably part of nature.

PART 51
THE FUTURE

What is the likely future of the world if Capitalism has its way? If the giant corporations do not destroy the world first by their greed for wealth, they will put an end to democracy and create a totalitarian World Government that forces environmental responsibility on the human race. The majority of humans will be sentenced to poverty and hard manual labour, while a small, privileged ruling elite will continue to live in unrestrained luxury.

PART 52
TECHNOLITHIC SOCIETY

In Salvation Science, we propose an alternative future to the one the corporations have planned for us. Corporations were created by human minds, and can therefore be destroyed by human minds. Once that is done, humans should return to nature, which is the only natural lifestyle that God intended for human beings. And while living by hunting and gathering, humans should do Salvation Research, that is, scientific research aimed at Salvation. Because this future society combines aspects of stone age life with advanced technology, we call it the Technolithic society.

PART 53
EDUCATION

In the Technolithic society, our present industrial school system, which reduces humans to mediocre sameness, will be replaced with a natural system of education that brings out the genius inherent in every person.

PART 54
WORLD GOVERNMENT

We look at how our Technolithic society will be structured under a benevolent and democratic World Government, immune to corruption, that will promote true justice and love between humans.

PART 55
COMMUNICATION

In our Technolithic society, travel by car or airplane is not permitted. Instead, humans will communicate across the world via small personal computers. These will be linked to a future version of our current Internet, which unites all humans into a single global community and provides every individual with a vast resource of information.

PART 56
SALVATION RESEARCH

The human role in Salvation is not so much to build a Salvation Machine themselves, but rather, to construct a new technological life-form that is more suited to this task than we are. Machine life, once it has been created, will travel in space and transform the entire Universe into a vast, super-intelligent Salvation Machine with incredible power and wisdom. This Salvation Machine will then attain Salvation for all processes that ever existed.

PART 57
THE TEN WONDERS

We summarise the whole story of the Universe, from Creation to Salvation, by listing the ten most important milestones in its evolution.
