Thomas Evans Baptised 9.5.1811 at Bodfean, Caenarfonshire, North Wales. His parents resided at Ty’ny Caenaf (a small farm in Caenarfonshire).
Died 9.1.1891 of chronic Bronchitis aged 79 years and is buried in the Nazareth (Presbyterian) Chapel cemetery, Penrhyndeudraeth. Thomas was an agricultural labourer from Maesgwyn, Pant, Penrhyndeudraeth. Witness: William Peter Williams, son-in-law from Tanrallt, Pant, Penrhyndeudraeth. (Note: On the headstone Thomas was 82 and on the death certificate she was 87.)
Thomas married Gaynor Parry/Williams on 3.12.1836 at Ynyscynhaearn, parish of Ynyscynhaearn county of Caernarvon, North Wales.
Witnesses: Robert Owens and William Jones.
Note:
We have a copy of a marriage certificate for Thomas Evans to Gaynor Parry which is the only registered entry locally for a Thomas Evans to a Gaynor. On all their children's births and marriages collected to date Gaynor is listed as Gaynor Evans formally Williams.
Gaynor was baptised 14.7.1810 (as Gainor) at Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, county of Caernarvon, Caenarfonshire. Her parents were William Parry of Mynydd-y-gorllwyn and Elizabeth (nee ).
Gaynor died 10.12.1891 of chronic Bronchitis aged 81 years and is buried in the Nazareth (Presbyterian) Chapel cemetery, Penrhyndeudraeth. Gaynor was the widow of T Evans from Tanrallt, Pant, Penrhyndeudraeth. Witness: William Peter Williams, son-in-law from Tanrallt, Pant, Penrhyndeudraeth. (Note: On the headstone Gaynor was 83 and on the death certificate she was 86.)

Elizabeth Born 18.5.1840 at Bwlch y Rhiwiau, district of Tremadoc , sub-district of Tremadoc, parish of Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, county of Caernarvon, North Wales. Elizabeth's parents were Thomas Evans a quarryman and Gaynor (nee Williams). Informant: Elizabeth Roberts, who was present at the birth and lived at Bwlch y Rhiwiau, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant.

Robert Evans Born __.12.1870 at Hendre'n Ellis, Llandecwyn, mother resided at Pant Penrhyn, father unknown, in the district of Festiniog, County of Carnarvon.
Note: In 1886 Ellen was a witness at her sister Mary's wedding at Harlech and signed as Ellen Evans, so if she was married it was after 1886 unless she married an Evans prior to 1886.
Robert Born circa1846 in Prenteg, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, county of Caernarvon, Caenarfonshire. (Unable to locate in register from either Tremadoc or Porthmadog.) Robert was buried 27.10.1917 aged 71 years at Everton Cemetery, General Section (Non-Conformist). He was living at 132 Herschell Street, Everton, and listed as a Gas labourer.
Robert married Catherine .... circa 1877.
Catherine was born circa 1853 at Montgomery, Llanrhaeadr/Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Denbigh and buried 7.1.1926 aged 73 years at Everton Cemetery, General Section (Non-Conformist). She was living at 132 Herschell Street, Everton.

John Born circa 1878 at Liverpool, Lancashire and died before 1949 as he was not mentioned along with his sisters Gaynor and Sall in their father, Thomas' death notice.

Edith was born 19.9.1896 at Liverpool and died 23.1.1982 at Liverpool. Edith’s father was J W Edwards from Llandderfel, Gwynedd.

Gaynor

Born circa 1887 at Liverpool, Lancashire and died 28.7.1963, a spinster at Nazareth House, Liverpool Road, Crosby, Liverpool and buried 31.7.1963 aged 76 years at Everton Cemetery, General Section (Non-Conformist). She was living at 25 Hawthorn Street, Roby.

Gaynor never married.
Ann

Born circa 1891 at Liverpool, Lancashire and buried 30.9.1891 aged 4 months at Everton Cemetery, General Section (Non-Conformist). She was living at 5 Louisa Street, Everton, with Robert Evans, owner and Fireman of the same address.

Sally (Sall) Born circa 189_ at Liverpool, Lancashire and died after 1949 as she was mentioned along with her sister Gaynor in their father Thomas' death notice.
Mary Born circa 1849 in Prenteg, district of Tremadoc , sub-district of Tremadoc, parish of Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, county of Caernarvon, North Wales. Mary's parents were Thomas Evans a labourer and Gaynor (nee Williams). Informant: Thomas Evans of Prenteg, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant.
Mary married William Peter WILLIAMS on 4.12.1886 at Moriah Chapel, Harlech according to the rights and ceremonies of the Calvinistic Methodists in the village of Harlech, in the district of Festiniog in the counties of Merioneth & Carnarvon.
Groom: William Williams a widower and farm labourer aged 50 years of Glanllyn, Penrhyndeudraeth. Signed with his mark. Father: Thomas Williams, sailor deceased.
Bride: Mary Evans a spinster aged 35 years of Pant yr Ynn, Penrhyndeudraeth. Signed with her mark. Father: Thomas Evans a labourer.
Witnesses: John Jones and Ellen Evans.

born 20.7.1892 and died aged 76 years in 1968 at Penrhyndeudraeth and is buried with Margaret in Minffordd General Cemetery, near Penrhyndeudraeth. Henry's family came from Harlech.

David Born 24.1.1857 in Turnpike y Traeth, Prenteg, parish of Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, county of Caernarvon, Caenarfonshire. David's parents were Thomas Evans a slate quarry labourer and Gaynor (nee Williams) Informant: Gaynor Evans of Turnpike y Traeth, signed with her mark. David died 25.5.1947 aged 90 years at "Penrhyn", The Entrance, Wyong Shire, near Newcastle, Australia. He was buried 26.5.1947 in the Congregational Section of Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle, Australia.
General Information
Prior to emigrating to Australia, David lived and worked in the mines in Penrhyndeudraeth (known as Penrhyn) , North Wales.
Australia Bound
David sailed to Australia on board the "Indus" a 2,350 ton ship under Capt R Leslie, Surgeon Superintendent P Smith and Matron Miffs Affleck. The ship sailed from London on the 20th June 1884 stopping at a number of ports including Townsville and Maryborough before arriving at Brisbane in the 22nd August 1884. There were 488 persons on board and 1 birth during the voyage. David was listed as travelling "Bounty" aged 27 years and departing the ship at Maryborough.
David married (1) Elizabeth McLean (nee Rowlands) on 26.10.1886 at the Congregational Church, Burwood, Newcastle, Australia.
Elizabeth was born 4.6.1851 in Dowlais, parish of Merthyr Tydfil, county of Glamorgan, South Wales and died 9.12.1913 aged 62 years at Kurri Kurri, near Newcastle, Australia. She was buried __.12.1913 at Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle, Australia.

Eva was born 1898 at Randwick, Sydney, Australia and died 5.8.1961 being cremated at Botany Cemetery. Eva's parents were John George and Ellen (nee Lloyd).
