Juice & Cider Apples

cider
Each year there are times when you can collect juicing apples for making apple juice, apple cider or apple cider vinegar.

Real cider apples are available from mid-February to mid-March to give high acidity (sharp) and/or high tannin (bitter) content for full-bodied flavour.

Small numbers of the following are grown:
Breakwell Seedling, Bulmers Norman, Kingston Black, Michelin, Stoke Red, Tremlett's Bitter, Yarlington Mill.

Juice apples (Jonathons, Granny Smith) to form a base for cider are available cheaply.
