MEDICAL THUMBS UP TO BREATHING EXERCISES

from The Blue Mountains Gazette

“The findings of the Woolcock Institute research into the efficiency of breathing exercises for asthma control are that the exercises, both physical and breathing, were so beneficial that the asthmatics in the trial were able to reduce their medication by at least 80%.

This is not news to the Buteyko Breathing Method world. For over fifty years now millions of people world wide have been, and still are, celebrating their liberation from the symptoms of asthma and other respiratory ailments as well as all symptoms of what is known as the Hyperventilation Syndrome. These symptoms include, sleep apnoea and snoring, dental abnormalities caused by chronic mouth breathing, chronic mouth breathing itself, panic attacks, anxiety, tension and stress, migraine, sinusitis, hay fever, blocked nose, eczema, blood sugar disturbances, bronchitis, depleted energy levels and shortness of breath” says Jennifer Harris of Buteyko Breathe Easy of Hazelbrook.

Jennifer continued “At Buteyko Breathe Easy we offer breathing lessons tailored to suit each individual. I have spent years researching many breathing methods and have a vast knowledge to call upon. I also teach Pilates along with healthy breathing. My breathing students learn healthy posture, how to speak, move and, for some, to sing. Business leaders find it so empowering to have such a command over their speech and posture that they report feeling a new level of authority and wellbeing that has a huge impact on their attendance and efficiency at work. No one is too young or too old to learn to breathe healthily. I even have a special programme for parents and infants. This programme educates the parents to breathe well and to teach and reinforce healthy breathing to their children. I am available for group sessions and lectures also.”
