FROM ASTHMA TO “FIDDLER”
from The Blue Mountains Gazette

In a recent Gazette, reporter, Damien Madigan, gave a glowing review to the Winmalee High School production of “Fiddler on the Roof”. Thank you Damien. Damien was particularly impressed with Max Paul in the lead role as “Tevya” Those of you who saw the show will know what Damien meant. For those of you who have followed my “Breathe Easy” articles you may recall my first article back in 1999 entitled “Asthma Free at Last”. The article told the story of Max Paul, my son, a twelve year old who was so ill with asthma that he wanted to die! That is until we “discovered” the Buteyko Breathing Method. This is the same Max Paul who features in Damien’s review. Thanks to the Buteyko Breathing Method Max has such control over his breathing that he is able take on the energetic demands of a hefty acting/singing role like “Tevya” without the threat of asthma interrupting his performance.
Imagine what a thrill it is to watch our Max “perform his heart out” doing what he loves so much. God bless Professor Buteyko for his method! Fortunately I am also a singing teacher and have “married” together my experience in that field with my Buteyko work to train Max’s voice. The combination is powerful “stuff”. I will forever remain in awe of the healing capacity of correct breathing. I will forever be grateful that my son was “delivered” from his asthma “hell”. Here we are four years down the healing road and Max is very happy to be alive and to use his breathing to so captivatingly entertain his audiences.
Relief for weekly workers is now available. Due to popular demand from the nine to five/ five day week folk I have scheduled a Buteyko Breathing class for every Saturday at 3pm at Lawson. The current class runs until June 28th with the next course commencing on July 26th. Private consultations are still available on request.
